Long before basketball trick shots and on-demand highlights became “a thing” on YouTube, the Harlem Globetrotters were the fathers of the impossible shot. For decades, the Globetrotters have wowed audiences worldwide, the team’s mixture of incredible basketball feats and humor a source of exciting fun for all ages. And while the team has been going strong since the early 20th century, in 2016, the team’s charm and skills haven’t worn off.

At this year’s Guinness World Records Day, the current roster broke nine records, improving from seven records in 2015. Among those were “Longest basketball shot blindfolded,” “Most bounced basketball three-pointers in one minute,” and “Longest blindfolded basketball hook shot.” Just another day at the office.

“We are the original trick shot artists, so it is great to reclaim our records and reestablish our dominance,” said Harlem Globetrotters star Big Easy Lofton in a statement. “We have been training hard so to have a day where we push the limits and try some fun yet challenging shots, is pretty cool. I mean, how many people can say they’re a Guinness World Records title holder? We can’t wait to put smiles on people's faces as we demonstrate our skills and talents on the upcoming world tour.”

And the show continues in 2017. The Globetrotters will hit the road for a new world tour where they’ll bring all of their usual wizardry and tricks, but with an added twist: the four-point line. 30 feet from the NBA three-point line, the four-point line ensures that the Globetrotters’ upcoming tour will have plenty of rain for fans to enjoy.
