Julio Iglesias just received the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award by the North American Academy of Recording Arts and Science
In 2016, Iglesias has been awarded The BrandLaureate Legendary Award, by the Asia Pacific Brands Foundation, in recognition of his achievements as the legendary music icon whose name is renowned as a remarkable force to be reckoned with in the fields of music and entertainment.
The Berklee College of Music, the largest independent college of music in the world, named Julio Iglesias Doctor Honoris Causa, in 2015, for his achievements and his influence on music at a universal level.
In 2013, he was the recipient of an award in Beijing, as the “Most Popular Foreign Artist in the History of China”, Furthermore, he received a second Guinness Record as the “Best-selling Latin Artist at global level”.
Julio Iglesias is arguably the most celebrated artist in Spanish and Latin music history. He is the Best-Selling Latin Artist and one of the top 10 Best-Selling Artists with more than 300 million records sold in 14 languages.
Having had more than 60 million spectators in the 5 continents and 2,600 albums of gold and platinum, over the course of his extraordinary music career Julio Iglesias has received numerous awards: Grammys, Hollywood Walk of Fame, ASCAP Pied Piper Award, Billboard, Guinness World Records, Personality of The Year by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (LARAS), etc. He has been the recipient the highest distinctions in most countries, including the Medal of the Royal Order of Isabella the Catholic in his homeland, Spain, and the French Legion of Honour in France. In addition to being the first foreign artist to be honored by the Chinese Ministry of Culture, as the artist who has sold most records in that country.
During years he was a United Nations Special Representative for Performing Arts, representing UNICEF, an institution that remains close to his heart.
