Infinite Energy Center to host Fan Controlled Football

ATLANTA (January 22, 2021) – Fan Controlled Football (FCF), the only professional football league where fans call the shots, including team branding, personnel decisions, and real-time play calling, today announced Infinite Energy Center as the official venue for its inaugural season – Season v1.0.

Located in Gwinnett County, Georgia, the arena will be transformed into a state-of-the-art live e-sports experience, one that captures the league’s innovative spirit and revolutionary approach to the combination of live sports and entertainment. The FCF is pioneering a new category of fan engagement whereby the league’s interactive video overlay extension and mobile app will enable fans from around the world to call the plays in real time that their team will run on the field in Infinite Energy Center.

“From the beginning we’ve sought out partnerships and technologies that would allow us to bring unprecedented levels of interaction and tech to our fans for Season v1.0. This venue allows us to do what has never been done before. We couldn’t ask for a more engaged and leaned in partner then we have in the team at the Gas South District,” said FCF Co-Founder and Chief Gaming Officer Patrick Dees. “No question, this partnership will result in us hosting the most unforgettable live experiences in sports and entertainment.”

Taking the field on Saturday, Feb. 13, the FCF will be streamed live on Twitch, with games starting at 8:00 p.m. EST. The league combines the passion and competitiveness of live and fantasy sports with the interactivity of video games. Built for the digital audience, each game is 60 minutes in length and will be stacked with professional players from the CFL, XFL, IFL, and NCAA FBS and FCS programs for a fast-paced, high-scoring 7-vs-7 style of football on a 50-yard x 35-yard field with 10-yard end zones.

“On behalf of Infinite Energy Arena and Gwinnett County, we welcome the FCF to our community,” said Gas South District Chief Operating Officer Stan Hall. “We are excited that they have selected the Arena as their official venue, and we look forward to working alongside the league.”

Operated by the Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Infinite Energy Center is a 118-acre campus just minutes outside of Atlanta that can accommodate a variety of events from concerts, performances, meetings, trade shows, conventions, banquets, and celebrations. The multipurpose campus includes a 13,000-seat arena (Infinite Energy Arena), a 708-seat theater (Infinite Energy Theater), 23 versatile meeting rooms, a 50,000-square-foot exhibit hall space, and a 21,600-square-foot grand ballroom (Infinite Energy Forum).

By utilizing the Infinite Energy Arena for all games and events across teams, in concert with dedicated hotel accommodations and transportation, the FCF is able to create a “bubble” experience that helps to maintain the health and safety of the league’s players, coaches and personnel.
