It’s been 15 years since Infinite Energy Arena opened its doors with an arena football game showcasing the Georgia Force.
The 13,000-capacity venue in Duluth, which was known as The Arena at Gwinnett Center until the Infinite Energy naming rights agreement in 2015, celebrates that anniversary on Feb. 16.
A few days after the Georgia Force game, George Strait took the stage for the first-ever concert in the building. Since then, the venue has held 1,565 shows from artists ranging from Beyonce to Elton John to Taylor Swift, with 167 of them sold-out performances.
Last year, Infinite Energy Arena experienced its most successful run with 22 sold-out shows, including a demanding week in July with six events in seven days (including Paul McCartney, Roger Waters and Kendrick Lamar).
The campus that houses the venue will soon undergo an expansion and renovation, with construction to begin this summer.
The upcoming months find the venue extremely busy, with shows by Lorde (April 14), Little Big Town (April 21), Justin Timberlake (May 11) and U2 (May 28), among others.
To commemorate the venue’s anniversary, followers of Infinite Energy Arena on social media will have a chance to win a premium suite for the Harry Styles concert on June 11.
