Gwinnett Center to host second International Film Festival

GWINNETT CENTER TO HOST SECOND
INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
Including Three Special Screenings
Duluth, GA (July 14, 2014) — Gwinnett Center will host their second International Film Festival, Friday, August 1 thru Sunday, August 3. The festival will celebrate efforts of both local and independent filmmakers from across the globe.
The films will play at Gwinnett Center in the Performing Arts Center and Convention Center, where there will be four screening room, as well as workshops and panel discussions presented throughout the festival. There will be three special screenings, including two world premieres (The Cure and Santa’s Bootcamp) and a film featuring Kevin Spacey (Now: In The Wings On A World Stage).

SYNOPSIS: Dominic Wells told Kennedy his girlfriend he loved her and kissed her goodbye like he always did when leaving for an assignment. She watched him walk away towards his transport, not realizing she would never see him again. Dominic, a 1st lieutenant in the United States Army set out with his team to execute a simple mission they could do in their sleep, but things quickly go wrong and Dominic is captured, leaving the rest of his team unaccounted for. Before escaping captivity, Dominic is injected with something he quickly learns he needs a vaccine for. Armed with a gun and a list of names Dominic sets out to find a cure, and anyone standing in his way God help them. Rick Sampson is a detective assigned to investigate a string of high profile murders in the area that he believes are connected with the recent jail break. His investigation is about to put him on a colliding path with Dominic, but as information unfolds, Rick finds himself to be in the middle of something much more than a murder investigation. Both men will stop at nothing to get to the bottom of what’s going on, but neither have any idea how deep the rabbit hole goes.

SYNOPSIS: Santa's Boot Camp is the story of what happens when kids don't believe in Santa Claus anymore. When kids become so bratty and self-centered it causes Santa's elves to go on strike. In a state of desperation, Santa brings six unscrupulous teens to his boot camp to help save Christmas. Between the striking elves and the unruly teenagers, Santa has all he can take. Will Christmas be canceled? Will the toys get made on time? After Santa quits, the teenagers and the striking elves both realize that they have to contribute to the greater good, cooperate and be nicer to others.

SYNOPSIS: This takes us along with twenty British and American actors on a whirlwind ten month international tour of Richard III, led by Kevin Spacey in the title role, and directed by Sam Mendes. The film follows Mendes Bridge Project, the first transatlantic theatre company, as the play takes shape and unfolds for us in spellbinding excerpts from the stage production as it travels through nine cities. As we discover Spacey's revelatory performance as the power-mad Richard destroying his family and everyone in his path, we also see him demonstrate how, in leading this troupe of actors his leadership helps to unify and bring the best out of the group.
